Parish Committees

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee is responsible for all financial matters pertaining to The Church of the Saviour. Its members draw up the annual budget, approve all sizable expenditures for the maintenance of the buildings and grounds and arrange for an audit at the end of each fiscal year.

The committee is also responsible for the scheduling of counters, and overseeing the Investment Committee which advises the Finance Committee about the church's investments..

Any church member interested in helping out with these activities should contact a member of the Vestry.

Property Committee

The Property Committee is responsible for the care and maintenance of the church buildings and grounds. Committee members give their time to perform repairs and improve existing facilities. They also plan and oversee the activities of contracted services such as lawn mowing and snow plowing. Because of the immense amount of work to be done, the committee depends on the help and involvement of the congregation. There are clean-up Sundays twice a year and occasional work nights during the week. The committee organizes and staffs these events, but their success depends on a substantial turnout by the parish.

Parish Life Committee

The Parish Life Committee is responsible for hosting the social events of the parsih, such as the Epiphany Luncheon, St. Patrick's Dinner, Progressive Dinner and Parish Picnic.  They also organize and host trips for the parish, i.e., trips to NYC, etc.

Any church member interested in helping out with these activities should contact a member of the committee.

Stewardship Committee

The Stewardship Committee is responsible for educating the parish on the matters of the stewardship of our time, talent and treasure. They also conduct the annual Every Member Commitment drive. The Church of the Saviour embraces the concept that Stewardship is an all year round commitment and offers ways for members to become more involved.

Worship Committee

The Worship Committee is an advisory board to the Rector regarding the worship life of the parish. The members take responsibility for the Adult Education program, music, worship and interacting with the Church School.

Interested parishioners are welcome to sit on the Worship Committee.

Outreach Committee

In appreciation for what we have ourselves received, we try to give generously to others. There is a food collection barrel just within the church doors for Food for Friends. In the past we supported a parish in George, South Africa. St. Martha's Guild also gives liberally to outside causes.

The committee is responsible for educating the parish as to the concerns within our immediate community, the wider diocesan family and world wide community. The committee also coordinates members of the parish to participate in the Morris County Interfaith Council for the Homeless. Their responsibility is to bring meals and stay over night four times a year at the shelter located in Chatham. They also disburse outreach funds. Members are always welcomed to join.
