Weddings

Arrangements should be made with the church before a date for the wedding can be set. The office has available an extended statement about marriage. Preparation for this sacrament includes the couple meeting with the rector to receive instruction on the nature of a Christian marriage.

The ministers of this rite are the man and the woman themselves who come to the Church to celebrate their marriage and to seek the Church's blessing.

The Church will officiate at the marriage of a divorced person.  However, every request for remarriage must be submitted to the Bishop of Newark and approval must be given.  This process can take up to a month's time.

Baptism

Baptism occurs during the regular 10am service at our church.  As part of the baptism, the whole community takes responsibility with the parents and godparents that the individual being baptized will be brought up in a life with Christ.

Anyone seeking to be baptized or have their child baptized should contact our rector who will work with the parents of infants to find a mutually acceptable date on the church calendar for the service.

Baptism is our "gateway to the community of God." People are only baptized once and usually as infants, although a person can be baptized at any age. Water is poured on the head of the person (in some places, the person is immersed) to symbolize the washing away of sins. The Holy Spirit is also called upon to strengthen the individual. Baptism is a pledge of repentance and obedience to God's will. It’s a sign that a person has been reborn into a new community - the church.

Choir

You don't have to read music! You don't have to be an opera star! Just show up at 7:45 PM Wednesday evening and become part of a really nice group of people who help inspire us all. We'll find out where you fit in best, and you'll find out what a great time you've been missing.

A Children's Choir is under the direction of the organist. Any child from first grade up is welcome to join. They rehearse after church on Sundays and sing about once a month in church.
